Introducing Atlassian: Supporting your world

Mike, Scott, Niki, Dan and I have been discussing this for the past few months.

Seeing great traction on our support for Java/J2EE/Orion service, and after the recent demise of Cadrion (Dan and mine’e employer), and all the open source work we’ve been hacking together on SiteMesh, OSCache, and the rest of OpenSymphony.

Mike put together a business plan, and maybe we can make it work. It’s a fun little side business. Maybe one day we can do it full time.

Here’s the first website! Built with our own tech, including SiteMesh and OSCache. And hosted on a tiny server running in my home office.

Next up, we’re working on build a support system and knowledge base to make our lifs a little easier - it’s hard to manage the customers. We also want to build forums and an open source portal. Built on our tech of course!

Update 2015: Many many years later…

Yeah yeah! I should’ve stuck with Mike and Scott on this one! It IPO’d today for over $4B. Amazing Mike and Scott - just incredible!

And yeah, kicking myself somewhat…
